Invasion Bowl Olympic Video

Uncle Rob, our Visual Arts wiz, created this documentary of The Invasion Bowl that was shown at the conclusion of Song & Sign Competition. All of the footage was filmed and edited during the four days of Olympics!!! Soon I'll be adding the audio podcasts of each team singing their songs on the last evening.

Video from Rick Recht's Performance

The summer may be over at GSC, but reliving the fun is not! Throughout the year we'll be updating this blog with news, pictures, podcasts (plenty that were recorded during the summer as well as newly recorded ones), and videos from the summer of 2008 and beyond!

This first video is provided by Rick Recht and captures some of the fun from his July 22 performance at Golden Slipper Camp.

Be sure to contact us through the blog, at 610-660-0520, or by emailing gscprograms@gmail.com if you have news to share or would like to participate in a podcast!

Join one of GSC's Virtual Communities

We now have two new, great ways for you to be a part of the Golden Slipper Camp community during the offseason. Basically, GSC has its own social networking sites!!! Here is a definition of what that means.

The sites each include areas for communicating with other members as well as for sharing pictures, stories, and more! Best of all, they are safe, secure, and only accessible to approved members from the GSC Community!

Joining is simple: just click the appropriate badge or link below, create a profile, and start connecting (or reconnecting) with members of your GSC family!

Chew's Clues

Uncle Jeremy Creighton has uploaded his 1st place winning video for Team Chewbacca, from the 2005 1st Encampment Star Wars Bowl. The theme of the video was "A Children's TV Show," so Uncle Jeremy and Chewbacca decided to parody Blue's Clues. Click below to watch Chew's Clues, which was made in less than 3 days, and be sure to let us know if you find or add any videos that would be of interest to the GSC community!

A Slipper Couple and a Tribute Song

Marc Lyman & Irene Ayzenberg met at GSC before marrying last year. I found this video on YouTube; it is Mark, Irene's brother and a former GSC camper, performing a song that he wrote for their wedding. The GSC reference is early, and I have the lyrics posted below.

The Lyrics to the song (the last two lines are in Russian):
They met at golden slipper camp
Marc was a track star, Irene a badminton champ
Late October of 2005, Marc proposed;
I can't say it greatly changed their lives

Cuz it's been a 10 years comin'
They've been happy for oh so long
It's been 10 years comin'
And they're still goin' so goin' so strong

I had plenty of time to write this song

They went through so much together
Gave support and love no matter the weather
I know that for the rest of their lives
This love will continue to grow and thrive

From the weeklong business trips
To Marc cooking dinners throughout Irene's exam time flips
I don't know how they did it
Must be that Love of this kind is impossible to split

There's just one more thing I wanna to say
Their adopted kittens are great and fun for today
I'm all for family increase
But I'd rather it be a baby nephew or niece

Cuz it's been a 10 years comin'
They've been happy for oh so long
It's been 10 years comin'
And they're still goin' so goin' so strong

There's no better person
For Marc or Irene
Лучше человека нету для марка или для иры
во всем мире
